Each year the Club holds a Sportsman’s Night where, following a meal, we have a speaker from the world of sport augmented by a comedian. The event attracts 200-300 people and can raise several thousand pounds. Last year’s event raised £4000 – it is one of our main fundraising activities of the year. The event enables our Club to support local charities and this year the main beneficiaries are Midland Air Ambulance and the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital. Our guest speaker is Alex Stepney, Manchester United’s Goalkeeper for their first European Cup Win. He will be supported by comedian Ian Irving.
