After several near misses in recent years our much revamped quiz “A” team won the Rotary District 1210 Fellowship Quiz on Wednesday 23rd May at the Four Alls near Hinstock. Our team of captain Peter Murray, Violet Redmond, Terry Ridgeway and Don Fear were convincing winners scoring 148 to the runners up Audley’s 137.
The District Quiz is the biggest sporting event in the Rotary year with 48 teams entering in 2022-2023. After two preliminary rounds the Wellington “B” team were the highest scoring semi finalists and amid much club banter, challenged the “A” team to beat them in the final. And they did! However, the “Bees” were a very creditable sixth with 124 points.
It was a most enjoyable evening and we look forward to defending the trophy in 2023-2024.
