Sports Officer Rob Evans writes:
Wellington Rotary hosted the Stafford Castle Club at Wellington Cricket Club’s ground on Thursday 23 July. Practice the previous week showed that we had much competition for places, so the team knew they had to perform!
A close first game reached 6-6 but an inspired Venn and Geoff won out 7-6. Paul and Jim, Rob and Greame all had excellent games resulting in Wellington winning the match six games to nil. An excellent buffet brought the evening to a successful conclusion. A review of the attendance showed we had more spectators than players – is that a record ?
Next round we visit Blythe Bridge so get your name down early as we may need a BUS!
