Film Night Success

President Elect Peter Llewellyn writes:

Our latest Film Night presentation of The Viceroy¹s House was shown on the 24th October at Wrekin College and was well received by the audience.Ticket sales for this event were initially very disappointing however a late surge in the final few days plus ticket sales on the night confirmed it¹s success.

Guests were welcomed with a glass of wine and a mince pie prior to the start of the film, raffle tickets were also sold with great gusto and enthusiasm by my arm twisting Rotarian friends reaching a final figure of over £300 Together with ticket sales and kind sponsorship we expect the final figure to be £1600 plus.

Our thanks must go to Wrekin College who provide the venue free of charge as a gesture of support for our Rotary charitable causes.  ‘Flicks in Sticks’ who provide the film and the technician are themselves a registered charity and so offer film viewing at supported rates. All of the support we receive helps us to maximise the amount we can then donate to good local causes.  Can I give a special thank you to all the people who helped to make the event a success.
