The Tom Farmer Shropshire Women’s County Cup was presented to the Shropshire Foorball Association on Monday 11th April at a special event at the Greenhous Meadow.
After receiving the Cup from President Peter Seaward of the Rotary Club of Wellington Maureen Farmer presented the Cup to the Chairman of the Shropshire FA, David Ralphs, in the presence of Roy Waterfield, Chief Executive of Shropshire FA, and Dave Simpson, Vice Chairman.
The Cup will be presented to the winning team at the Women’s County Cup Final on 5th May 2016 at the Greenhous Meadow.
Maureen thanked all those involved….’for this fitting tribute. My family and I are honoured that Tom’s name will live on in football for many uears to come. Tom spent many years promoting women’s football both locally and internationally. I hope that the Finals in years to come will be memorable and competitive games, played in the spirit of the game that brings people together breaking down society’s problems. If Tom was here today he would raise a toast and thank you all by saying iechyd da.’
