Every year Wellington Rotary Club attends the Youth prize night at Wellington Cricket Club and makes a £25 award to the boy and girl who in the opinion of the coaches has made the best effort during the playing season.
President John Wardle and Chair of Youth Peter Williams attended the event on Friday 14th October to present these awards.
Elliott Ward received the award for the Boys section and Erin Sturrock received the award for the Girls.
The Boys section had a very good season with the Under 11s, u13s and u15s all winning the County leagues for their age groups. The Girls did not fare so well this season but played very well under difficult circumstances.
We were given chance to discuss the aims of Rotary with numerous players and parents and were treated as honoured guests as usual.
