Bursary award presentation

At the Friday meeting on 9th August 2013 District Governor Barry Picken and Youth Services Chairman David Roberts presented Katie Booth with a a Higher Education Bursary for an embellisher. The embellisher was used to fuse / pattern materials for the dress at the right of the picture.

This year is unusual in that Katie is already at Liverpool University.

The Higher Education Bursary

Applications are invited from year 13 students or those in their first year at college who can demonstrate that they can buy goods or services which will enhance their learning and achievement.  Up to £1,000 p.a.  is on offer by our club and the awards have ranged through laptops, cameras, dictaphones etc.
