Dictionaries for Wrekin View Year 6

At the end of their end of year play featuring the panic of an end of term Oftsted inspection, the Year 6 pupils were treated to a short talk about Rotary International.

President Brian Richards noted that the Leicester Tigers badge was recognised by more pupils than the Rotary logo.

Usborne Dictionaries were present to the pupils as they left to greet their parents.   President Brian was assisted by Youth Chair, Keith Mainwaring.

Since the launch of the Rotary ‘Dictionary 4 Life’ project thousands of children have received a specially printed Usbourne Illustrated Dictionary. Each dictionary is personalised with the student’s name makes it a gift that can be kept and used for many years. The dictionaries are not just for schools in the UK as there is an ever growing number of countries benefitting from the project.

The Rotary Club of Wellington is one of over 400 Rotary Clubs taking part in the project.

President Brian said, “The Rotary theme for this year is ‘Rotary:Making a Difference’. I hope that encouraging children to use the gift of reading will help make a difference to their lives”.
