The meeting of Friday 13th May proved to be both lucky yet tinged with sadness. We were extremely lucky to have an excellent speaker, Lynsey Kilvert, who in the presence of District Governor Richard and the leader of the Norwegian Study Exchange team Tor Nilson, gave members an insight into the work of the Hope House Children’s Hospices. The photograph on the left shows Lynsey Kilvert with host Mike Heath.
The Club said farewell to Barry and Dorothy Preen who are leaving the locality to set up home in Weston-Super-Mare. Barry has been a member of the Club since 2002, was President 2005-6 and was the Club’s second District Governor, serving during Rotary year 2011-12. President Peter thanked Barry and Dorothy for all they have done for the Club. He presented Dorothy with flowers and Barry with a cheque for his favoured charity, RNLI.
