Charlton School Young Innovators

Wellington Rotary Club was invited to attend the Charlton School GCSE Presentation evening on Thursday 20th November. President Venn Davies and Peter Williams used this opportunity to present the Wellington Rotary Club Young Innovator awards during the ceremony.

Certificates of merit were awarded to 5 pupils for their work ranging from electronics to dress design and woodwork. Vouchers for £25, £15 and £10 were given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Judging had been carried out by Keith Mainwaring, John Bradley and Daniel Scollard-Kerr who unanimously felt that Thomas Morphet’s wooden treasure chest deserved the top prize.

President Venn Davies spoke to an audience of 200 former pupils and their parents about Rotary and Wellington Rotary Club in particular. This was extremely well received by all. Venn Davies and Peter Williams were then invited to present the GCSE certificates .

Numerous members of the Club have spent many years fostering good relations with Charlton School which continue to grow under the present Chair of Youth Activities, Rtn Peter Williams.
