District Grant – Citizens Advice Bureau Laptops

Brian Richards writes:

Twelve laptops (each with a USB mouse) and two wheelie laptop bags were handed over to Valerie Graham of CAB Telford at their Wellington offices this week, funded by a £1,000 District Grant matching the £1,000 from the Club Benevolent Account.

The laptops will enable the CAB Digital Inclusion Project to deliver digital training using similar equipment to people who are unable to engage with the outside world, through face to face streaming (such as Zoom), email, job search, application for benefits and on line shopping.

Classroom training is given at the CAB offices and the outreach scheme visits schools in the area. Valerie said “Citizens Advice Telford is grateful to Wellington Rotary for their generosity in supplying us with laptops, enabling us to make a difference to people’s lives.

PS. Two projects completed in the same week. A surprise for me with my record!
