The speaker at the meeting on 2nd November was from Telford Samaritans. Joanna 272 gave a full insight into the work that they do in this area. In the year March 2017 to March 2018 they handled 17,900 telephone calls, 5600 e-mail contacts, 4800 SMS contacts and saw 160 people face to face.
President Peter was delighted to present a cheque for £1000, raised at our Charity Film Night, to Joanna to support their work. Telford Samaritans are completely self funding and Joanna will return at a later date to let us know how the money has been used.
